I wonder if the guy can hear? I know, as a Deaf person, I miss company a lot. If it weren't for my hearing dog, I would never know there was anyone at the door....but he sometimes don't hear them either if we are upstairs..... Marsha

He has a Husky/shepard mix that is basically kept chained in the back yard. I know our neighbor really does care about this dog. But I doubt his current ability for take care OF the dog. He is barely caring for himself at this point. He was hospitalized in the summer for an ext ended period of time. His brother stayed at the house to care for the dog. We talked to him because a friend of our's really wanted a Husky and was interested in giving this one a good home, if possible. The brother said that a love for this dog was the only thing keeping my neighbor alive and refused to discuss the issue with my neighbor or us. My husband and children feel we need to contact someone who can be sure the dog is ok and not neglected. My fear is that the dog will be taken from his owner and put down. This will not only cause his death, but who knows what the loss will do to the old man? I'm just torn, I don't want to make a bad decision that can't be reversed. My daughter wants us to take him in, but thats just not feasible in anyway. I don't know how to reach the man's brother. And the man will not answer the door, ever.
