The drops didn't work, not one little bit. But then the vet told me they seldom
do, and it was a long shot but worth the effort.

I am having the eye operated on when Raul is neutered in March. The vet said
there is no harm in waiting, and he would rather use the anesthia (can't spell
that one at all) once rather than twice. That should save me some, but not a
lot of money.

I understand how concerned you are, I was almost, but not quite panic stricken.
Now that I am sure the problem is indeed Cherry eye, I know that we could even
just leave it alone and it is unlikely something would happen to it. However
Raul is a wild thing and loves to dig in the dirt and run through the high
grass and bushes, I am afraid that he will get dirt in it or scratch it, so off
it will come.

Good luck with your baby, keep us posted.

Hello, I have a 3 month old Chihuahua that I believe has developed
cherry eye also. Our vet gave us some kind of cream to use in the eye
for seven days to see if it would clear up, before considering
surgery. He was not so sure that it was cherry eye because it is not
really bulging or red. I was curious as to what the drops were that
you had been given, if they work, I would like to suggest them to my
vet. What we were given was a tube of cream to squirt into his eyes
every 12 hours. I am really concerned about his eye. The vet quoted me
350.00-450.00 for the operation. Yikes. Does anyone think this is
high, or is this a normal rate? Thanks.
