And I will second that. Neutering has not made a difference in ANY dog I have
ever had. Men are still gonna be men! lol

True. Neutering does not stop marking. My male dog was neutered at 8 months
old and he NEVER lifted his leg for the first year and a half, even on walks
outside. He would just squat to pee. He was never around any male dogs that
could have "taught" him how to mark either. At around a year and a half old,
he started learning (on his own) how to lift his leg to pee. Now, he marks
outside and in other places where male dogs have been. Luckey for me, he has
not marked in my home. But, as I said in a previous email, he is the only male
in the house. I am not sure all males do this but I know for a fact that it is
a MYTH that only intact dogs mark or male dogs that learn from other males. My
male is living proof of that, LOL!

Neutering a dog does NOT stop the marking, and I could be wrong about this
but I have a feeling that ALL males do it and yes you are absolutely right in
your thinking that when one male marks the other will come right behind him and
mark also. I speak from experience on the dogs marking behind each other as I
had a male and a female (bro and sis from same litter) then took a male rescue
in and they mark to their hearts content, I have had to put plastic over the
bottoms of chairs and furniture so they can't reach the fabric after them
ruining a brand new recliner.
I hope this doesn't sound mean as I sure don't mean for it to but I
honestly do NOT think you should get the male puppy after reading your post
because you will only be trying to find another home for him within days, if
not hours after his arrival and he will wonder what he did to cause rejection
from another human, so please just let someone else take him that will give him
a forever home with no strings attached. I know you mean well by giving him a
home but he needs a forever home, regardless of what he does as none of us
really know what all the little guy has already been thru. Good luck in finding
a female for a 2nd dog if you are planning on getting another one....normajean
