My 2l/2 yo male chi/doxie mix hates loud men. I rescued him 3 months ago and it seems like he has become more fearful of them as time goes by. He loves my husband, my sil and others who approach him quietly and let him come to them. But our painter (who has been in the house daily for two weeks) almost received a huge bite with lots of extreme barking etc. He is also very bad on the street if he sees a man walking by; and actually bit the trousers of an elderly man who stopped to talk (friend of mine).
I realize he needs training and read somewhere that I should put him in a sit/stay and reward for that whenever a man is present. Any other advice appreciated.
