Does she get treats? Like a whole dog biscuit? If so, start cutting the treats down in size, buy the smallest dog biscuits and break them into little pieces. I had a vet who told me it was not the size of the treat that counted to the dog, but the fact that you gave them the treat. He was right, my great big lab did not skip a beat when instead of a large do biscuit I gave him half of a small dog biscuit. He was just as happy because it was a treat and it came from Mommy.
Of course no table scraps. Barbara & Raul ----- Original Message ----- From: Edith To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, March 29, 2007 12:48 AM Subject: [Chihuahuas] Overweight. My chihuahua is going to be 4 years old in July. She is the "baby" of the family, spoiled, and knows it. *lol* Our last visit to the vet reported that she is overweight by 5 pounds. I have tried these past few months to get her to loose weight, but I see no results. I watch & I do not see her eating a whole lot, yet she is a chubby little girl. I wouldn't really be worried about her extra weight, except that this is causing her a "little" breathing trouble at times. I don't want anything to happen to my baby, but I don't know how to fix her weight problem. " Lets talk about our wonderful little friends! Join today! " Yahoo! Groups Links
