I can imagine just how much more expensive it is to live there now.
Beautiful country though

I live in Vienna down the street from McLean and it is VERY expensive to
live here! My other dog, Twister is due to get a dental cleaning and it
could cost anywhere up to $800! They charge $50.00 just for an office
visit. Unbelievable! I am going to call my mom's vet and see what they
charge. She lives in a more rural area of Maryland.

I would do it when she gets spayed but I am not planning on spaying her. I
am planning on breeding Cricket. So she would have to be sedated just for
her tooth extrations. I am going to ask around at other vet clinics because
it seems most people are saying it cost them $5 per tooth! My vet is not
even close to that in price! I live in a very expensive area, Northern
Virginia, which is near Washington, DC. Maybe I will just have to drive
further out to find a cheaper price.

Thankfully, I haven't had to experience it, but yes, it is pretty common
among chis. Whish is why a lot of people decided to try to do a spay/neuter
and a teeth extraction under the same anesthesia...saves money and only a
one time danger....

Has anyone else had a Chi who retained some of their baby teeth? My 7 month
old Chi, Cricket still has all four (2 upper and 2 lower) baby canine teeth
and the adult teeth are growing in next to them! All four of the baby teeth
are not falling out and not even loose. I asked the vet and he said they
will have to be pulled. It is going to cost between $180 and $450,
depending on the sedation/anesthesia used! The vet said this is a common
problem in the smaller dogs. I had no idea. Any thoughts?
