Floppy ears do not bother the dog so unless you want a show quality dog I would leave them. I was told by vet and from reading that you should not do anything to a chihuahua's ears, as another person has told you. Both of the ears on my puppy are floppy and I think it's kind of cute actually. I am on the fence about whether I want them to fully stand or not haha. Also I was told by vet the same thing you were told earlier, that the ears will flop when teething. I'm sure they will stand back up after that :)

He'd spend all day pawing it and do more damage than good. I'll wait for them to perk up and if they don't I'll rename him Floppy ;) thanks for everyones advice. My guy (and many others I've heard from all of you) had the floppy ear thing going until he was almost ten months old. Sometimes lefty, sometimes righty, sometimes both straight then both floppy. Why menace a guy with tape? How do we really know its not bothersome? In my very humble opinion it seems excessive and to me a bit insensitive to the wee one. > > best, > michelle and henry > in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, NY > > _____________________________________________________________________ ___ > AOL now offers free email to everyone.
