Unfortunetly it stops there because that is the max size for AKC chihuahuas. It sounds like she is just going to be a big Chihuahua. I am not a Chihuahua expert but it sounds like she will be over 6 pounds at the rate she is going. She weighs more than my Chihuahua does at 7 months old. Even if she does get larger than 6 pounds, I am sure she will still make a wonderful, loving pet! My step- mother has a very large Chihuahua and he is the sweetest guy in the world. He's a big brindle Chi named Chico. There is a Chihuahua weight chart somewhere online. I will try to find it and post it. If anyone else has it, please post it so she can get an idea of her Chi's adult weight. > > Stef > > Ashley Carrel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > I saw the mother and she was 7 lbs. the father was 4.5lbs. I cannot visibly see her ribs, but I can feel them. I took her to the vet and they put that her weight was average, but I cannot imagine that being average if the breed standard is set at 6lbs :( I do hope she doesn't get to 10lbs bc the size of this breed is what first drew me to chis. I have problems lifting heavy things do to some problems with my elbow. Hopefully it is just a growth spurt and not an overweight issue. I've cut back on the petsmart training treats I give her. I used them to train her to use the potty pads.
