My 2 other dogs are brothers from the same litter. They are half doxie
and half maltese but both have the long back. Two years ago Leo
injured his back trying to jump up on the couch and was paralyzed in
his rear legs. I took him to tw different vets and surgery didn't look
very promising. I happened across a website for doggy wheelchairs and
read many testimonials from owners who had dogs doing very well with
the aid of the wheelchairs. We bought one for Leo and within 6months to
a year, I can't remember now, he learned to walk again. I think having
the chair allowed him to slowly touch ground without the fear of pain.
We initially put his back legs in stirrups because he was dragging them
raw and then gradually let them down a little at a time. We were very
lucky to have this outcome but I would have gladly kept him in the
chair for the rest of his life. If it is only his back legs then the
chair is a great option. I would gladly donate or lend my chair if
your dog is a similar size. I don't remember what it cost but it
wasn't cheap. Good luck to you! Maureen
