If someone is looking to adopt in SoCal -- I might have something they'd be
interested in.
While we were preparing to look for our little peanut head, I made a list of a
bunch of
public and private shelters -- humane society, county and city shelters, SPCA.
Since we're
downtown, that's the focus -- the list is roughly south of ventura to the
orange county
line. It includes addresses and hours of operation. It's a word doc, but I
can easily convert
it to PDF for easy circulation. Feel free to contact me directly . . . I'm
glad to share. We
found Tabasco on our second day of searching, and we certainly weren't
expecting THAT,
so I was well-prepared to hit the pound-circuit.

The day we went to Long Beach to the SPCA, they had probably 6-8 Chi / Chi
Mixes. I
can't believe we went during a week when they were overrun by Chis -- I have
no doubt
there is a steady stream of them coming into shelters. Just like there are too
many
shepards, pit bulls, golden retrievers -- you can find anything you're looking
for, if you're
just willing to look.
