My dog Hershey is 4 months old and the vet has set her up to be spade in 3 weeks. She will be 5 months by then. The vet said they go into heat earlier this time of year and it's better to have it done before their first heat. I don't have to leave her over night. Just from 8-5:30. I still hate to leave her there but it has to be done. Betty
