Hi Michele and welcome to the group! For my 4 pound Chihuahua, I use
Interceptor for heartworm preventitive (tablet once per month). I use
Frontline Plus for fleas as even the little ones get fleas! Talk to your vet
about these products because I think the dogs have to weigh at least 2 pounds.
I have heard Chis are sensitive to Lepto vaccinations, so I would ask your vet
to leave that out of her vaccinations. Good luck with your new baby and post
pics if you can!

I am very curious about Heartworm with her. What do all of you do
with that, even the teeny tiny ones? Monster is 8 weeks old and
about 1 pound. I will weigh her more accurately before giving her
anything.
Also, should I be concerned with the Leptotosis (sp?) in the baby
shots?
I also have pugs and they can not tollerate the Leptotosis at all.
OH, also flea products. I bring Monnie in the shower and bath tub
with me at least once a week. I don't think a fur kid that clean
will have to worry about fleas but would like your opinion.
As soon as I figure out how to post a pic of her you can all see
her.
