my puppy was raised this way...lucky I was able to take lots of time to train
him. It was not a good start after this method of the breeders. I got him when
it was snowy cold so we had to start inside. I trained him on wee pads just
putting them where he liked to go eventually getting him down to one (he liked
one for poop, one for pee at one point LOL). He had no trouble to switch to
outdoors in summer and will still look for his wee pad when its rainy or cold.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] QUESTION; WHIZ DOG!!!!!!!!!!

I brought my 9 week old male Chi home, today. He is 2lbs. and I named
him Goliath.
What I want to know, is there anybody else using the Wizdog?
The breeder had him successfully using puppy pee pads at one end with
bedding and water at the other, enclosed by a exercise pen. Goliath has
already used the puppy pee pad twice; I put it on the Wizdog (without
the grate for a week) as instructed. The old saying "if it works don't
fix it" probably applies to me in this situation. I am having a
problem with this as it feels totally backwards to my thinking, "it's
okay for Goliath to pee in his Backyard Pet Cage instead of
housebreaking him to the outdoors." However, after reading and
learning more about Chi sensitivity to cold, draft, etc. I am trying to
convince myself this is the way to go. I need others support and imput
that I am doing right by Goliath and/or any other suggestions would be
appreciated.
He appears to no problem in drinking his water and eating his food even
though both r in the cage.
Not sure how to go about (except slowly) eventually moving the Whizdog
out of the Backyard Cage. My thinking is when he gets older I will
wean him from the cage to a doggie bed/basket and put the Wizdog in the
laundry room. Our home is a very small ranch plus I do have 2 other
dogs. I have a gate up between my kitchen and living room so the min.
pinscher and doxie don't go in there. The bathroom/laundry is off of
living room hallway. Thanks.
