----- Original Message ----- From: Amy To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, June 03, 2007 6:36 PM Subject: [Chihuahuas] chi puppy first time at my home when i was in texas not far from mexico. my husband's best friend mom live in mexico she american but her husband is not. so we got a chi from them we couldnt pass up the good deal and price. we did wanted one when we got our 2nd dog but couldnt afford it so we end up getting our 2nd dog from the shelter which is cheaper.. soo when we were in texas for a wedding we came home with a 8 weeks old puppy. he is now appox 17 weeks old now... 4 months and a week a appox.. he so far been a smart one.. my very first puppy! my other two dogs i adopted them as adult.. my first one well he died of cancer but i had 2 greyhounds.. anyway my 2nd dog that alive and with us is a greyhound weight appox 65 pounds (first one 80 pounds) big dog but a sweetheart they are like a puppy not know how to play and when to go outside.. they have a schedule routine from the race.. they are retired racer.. anyway i have one greyhound i adopted age 4 now 7 and a redbone coonhound i got from the shelter age appox 3 to 4.. so now 4 or 5?? she a handful but her eyes and cuddle just melt anyone haha.. so then we got a puppy! i know 3 dogs but i only have one kid ( and step son here everyother weekend and most of summer) and cant have anymore and my dogs are my kids hahaha.. chi so far potty outside good but follow the big dogs around. he go pee right away but number 2 no cuz too busy chasing my 2nd dog around the yard.. i sometime have to bring the dogs in and leave my puppy out and have him go! but i learn from others in my area they hide and poop so far my puppy have been doing that.. but when he in the crate while we are at work he pee and poop in the litter box with pad in it.. i have a large crate! or med? well it too big for chi but perfect for litter box and blanket toys bone got room.. so far not bad but when he in the house i try to train him if have to go go in box! i used to have the box in kitchen he did go in there in past but not all the time but now i got the crate he doesnt do that anymore im gonna have to get another litter box and put one in dining room and bedroom and hope he go in to it.. just cuz he young and cant tell me when he got to go.. my 2 dogs can hold long... my puppy became best friend with my kitty i got last xmas and they are appox 3 months apart.. nonstop wrestling both of them. finally my puppy finally play with the 2nd dog whenever she lay down he there snuggle and nipping and they play niced so far.. i learn chi not good with big dogs or kids.. but it not too bad depend what dog u got and kids.. i dont let the kids hold puppy much i said treat puppy as a big dog and let him chase you and chase toy etc.. so far my kids do well.. im a overprotective mommy hahhaha.. they pick them up but i warn becareful cuz if he try hard to get out of ur arms he could break a leg.. well so far im glad it been well.. just he a pooper! lucky it not HUGE like my other 2 dogs.. sooo it not stuck on carpet or anything.. so far we have all hard floors cuz of our 2 dogs well in past dog that was sick damage our carpet and i dont blame him cuz he was really sick of cancer.. we got all hard floors but not the stairs and two bedrooms hahah.. soon we will have alll hard floors! just a thought to share my infos and pet.. this is my first time posting...wnat to learn more about chi.. i will share pix too
