That is so cool. I worried about training Bogie because of my hearing loss
but he always manages to let me know what he needs.

Hi Erinn,
Welcome to the group.
Well, I had the same problem when I brought my two dogs home. I had to train
them not to make a mess when I left to go to work or store or wherever..
since I'm deaf.. I had to train them with few signs. I tell them "no"
several times and show them the treat.. I put them down on the newspapers
that were tore and they would come and I picked the treat up and signed "no"
several times (I also spoke "no" at the same time) and showed the newspaper
and signed "no" several times.. I pointed to the newspapers and sign "no".
It took a while for them to understand... when they did not make a mess, I
give them treat. :) Same things as they peed or pooped on the floor.. they
learned fast with signs.

Linda :)

Hi all, My name is Erinn and i am fairly new to the group. I took
in Gigi a Chi mix about 2 months ago. Some one was going to bring her
to the pound. They told me she was about 7 months old at the time. I
am having alot of problems training her in everything. I dont like
keeping my dogs in crates during the day while im working, i never had
to do it with my Shepard mix. I started with not putting gigi in the
crate and she did good for a long time. Now when ever i come home
something is always destroyed!! This dog will eat anything. So i have
started putting her in the crate untill she can learn not to destroy
things. I have to keep her int he crate while we sleep to cause she is
so hyper she jumps on us all night and continuously licks our faces.
Does anyone have any advice??? I cant seem to ever have her calm she
is always jumping, you cant sit down without her jumping on you and
continously licking you. I love her to death but i just need some
advice on training her.

Thank you
Erinn
