IMO part of the joy of having a chihuahua is to have them sleep with you. My little guy sleeps with me all the time. In fact sometimes, if he is in the living room with my husband instead of in bed with me, I cant sleep!. There is something comforting about having his warm furry body with me. JMO of course.
