Melanie,
You gave that dog the only love she ever knew, a gift beyond price. You are
both blessed.

i wont be on much. I just had to put one of my rescue chis to sleep. i
have only had her 6 months and i knew the day i got her she had cancer,
took her to be checked and it was too advanced for treatment local and
couldnt spend close to 5 grand for chemo much less travel to new york
for the treatment, so i opted to let her stay til i thought she was
suffering. today she took a turn for the worse and was throwing up blood
every time she drank water, she wouldnt eat and within just a couple
hours she could barely get around. I refuse to let one suffer just so i
dont hurt and it was confirmed the cancer has spread thru her entire
body and was also in the stomach. I could have put her on ivs and kept
her alive a few days at best but chose to pts. Knowing it was coming and
only loving her 6 months didnt make this any easier, im still
heartbroken and upset, not to mention angry at the so called breeder who
bred her up until june of 06 even with the tumor on her belly.(thats the
reason she was sent to me by the humane society in shelby cty, they are
after her to shut her down).
  thanks for letting me vent
  mel
