Mel, Sorry for your loss. Your chi was lucky to find such a loving home for the past 6 months. It's a difficult thing to decide to do. I had to put my pug to sleep because he was sick & in pain - it was one of the hardest things I've ever done. But I know it was for the best, it's so hard to watch them suffer. Kathy K

I just had to put one of my rescue chis to sleep. i have only had her 6 months and i knew the day i got her she had cancer, took her to be checked and it was too advanced for treatment local and couldnt spend close to 5 grand for chemo much less travel to new york for the treatment, so i opted to let her stay til i thought she was suffering. today she took a turn for the worse and was throwing up blood every time she drank water, she wouldnt eat and within just a couple hours she could barely get around. I refuse to let one suffer just so i dont hurt and it was confirmed the cancer has spread thru her entire body and was also in the stomach. I could have put her on ivs and kept her alive a few days at best but chose to pts.
