i wish i could afford science diet. i wonder what vets are getting paid to push it cuz the 3 vets i was a tech for werent getting paid anything. it has such a better formula than some brands that they eat less and poop less. at least thats my experience. everyones entitled to their own opinions though, youre right. i feed a lamb and rice blend cuz my english mastiff has a weak stomach. my chis can eat anything and be fine, but the one stomach that makes a difference in my food bill is sensitive, lol. i'd have to get a paying job (other than raising my kids) to afford to feed big boy S.D. i am curious about feeding my little one carrots, i'll have to pick up some next time i'm in town and see if they like it. can they digest it ok or is it like corn? tastes good but comes out whole, lol.

Boy I hate Science Diet.
I am sorry but since I found out that they pay the vets to push it ...that
did it for me.
I feed mine Diamond Naturals. Another good one is Innova.
For treats I give my little very active guys........carrots.
I know Em who is buying two of mine says she gives hers broccoli.
I also know that mine love sweet potato.
Hope I helped abit and ignore my comment on Science Diet...it is your
business what you feed.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Question of weight
Hi there...I read, but haven't really posted - still learning! :) My
chi is 2 years old - his name is Skeeter. I've weaned him to Science
Diet "lite" to drop some weight on him, but also see several "air
treat" postings that caught my eye. My question is this - if the
veggies go undigested and unchanged, is that good? What treats CAN
you give a chi that won't put the weight on or hurt their health?
I'll have to upload some pics too.
