i had heard this theory on chihuahuas and illness several times and decided to research it. it is sadly just an old wives tale and there is no scientific evidence to say otherwise. i'm not usually one to dispute a friends beliefs because in my opinion if you believe a puppy has helped you physically in anyway, chances are youve convinced your body of that and it begins to feel better. so, if this is a 'theory' you choose to beleive, i wont tell you not to, but i also wouldnt suggest running out and buying a chihuahua for your sick child because it might 'cure' him. chihuahuas are not hypo-allergenic dogs and bringing one home to someone with asthma and allergies could make the person worse. here is a quote from DHWebsite that says alittle about it. i was hoping to find a little more, but i'm short on time. here is also the link to that page.. http://www.healthypups.com/page10.html it also talks about the dangers of breeding chihuahuas too small...like the 1 pound adult someone saw at the park. anyway, Gods blessings and forgive me if i offend anyone, Heather "Many people are also attracted to Chihuahuas because they have heard that Chihuahuas are good for people with asthma and allergies.
