I had to have a dog put down and the vet i used put him to sleep first and then when he went to sleep he injected this stuff right in his heart and in less then a min. he was gone i was there for the whole thing it was very peaceful nothing painful about it other than my pain from having to put the dog down. if you think he is suffering i would put him down i know it is hard to do but he'll be better off than slowly starving to death. Most Vets I have known will not inject a pet directly into the heart with the owners standing there. They use the vein on the leg. If the pets circulatory system is very poor then that might be the reason to have to go directly to the heart. When I worked for a vet the only time he did it was when the owners were not around.. Its a little faster, but from watching I would say more traumatic in my own opinion Jenifer. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
