That appears to be an abcess and more than likely needs opened and then
antibiotics are needed too. Unfortunately it means the vet.
Hugs and hope the doggy get better fast.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Any ideas about lump/lesion with pus around ear

My poor dog has a rather large swelling at the front of her head just in
front of her ear. I am suprised because I just noticed it today. I do have
them out every day and she is white so I would have noticed it so it would
have have to been bedtime last night/overnight/this morning. When I noticed
it, it had cracked pus looking stuff on it. I put a hot cloth on it. A bit
of pus came out and the scab stuff came off but now it is bright red and
seems to have a mass inside it. She doesn't seem bothered by it and has let
me look at it.
Here is a pic
I'm thinking I should take her in but not sure, I have another chi and also
a cat that likes to play with them so she could have got the scratch/bite
from either if that is what it is.
Thanks

Sue
