I've always thought of starting my own rescue except mine would be for cats.
Who did you contact reqaurding the 501c3 status of a rescue/non-profit
organization? I'm curious but don't know where to start.

Hello, I have been a part of this group only for a short time now,
and I want to introduce myself. I live in Buford, Ga. and have owned Chihuahuas
for the past 12 years. I also have participated in animal rescue for the past 5
years. I was also shelter manager for a humane society and have worked in the
veterinary field.
Over the past few years, I have worked with many homeless Chihuahuas in
finding them new homes based on their special needs. I have now reached the
point where I feel that it is time to start my own rescue group for Chihuahuas
in Georgia. Currently, I am in the process of filing for incorporation and
501c3 status.
The reason I am so excited to be a part of this group as I am seeking foster
homes and volunteers to lend expertise to the group. This is a great time to do
so because there is no other breed specific Chihuahua rescue in Ga. Our group
will hopefully lay the foundation.
Anyone who wishes to volunteer should feel free to email me and we can
discuss the opportunities available! :O) Also, I am holding a Halloween contest
on my website to start things off on the right foot. I hope you will consider
supporting my cause!
Thanks for letting me share, and talk soon!
