Not entirely sure if his health was genetic or not. He was my first chi and 
quiet frankly I was inexperienced and naive (I was only 14) . I got him from a 
puppy mill. I do not think he had the healthiest of backgrounds, but he never 
really had any health issues till he got to be about 10, so I think it was a 
combination of everything. He had a stoke when he was 11 or so and he never 
really recovered from that and I think that sped up his health decline. At the 
same time, heart problems are one of the health issues chis tend to be doomed 
with.
