Switching from human food to pet food will take time if that's what you've been feeding for so long. How long do you leave the kibble down before reverting back to people food? Do they like to eat dog cookies/biscuits? You said you've tried introducing it slowly, how exactly? When we switched Daisy from puppy kibbles to adult she just stared at them. She didn't eat for about a day and a half. Hunger eventually won, though. Also, If I act all excited about giving her a kibble it might as well be a special treat. Maybe you could use the kibbles as treats and your dogs will learn to be excited over them? I don't know how slowly you've tried to make the switch. I'd use whatever they're used to and just put in a few kibbles at a time... kinda like sneaking veggies to a kid. Then maybe like every other day put in a few more kibbles. If they have been on home cooked meals for years, I really think it will take awhile. Perhaps you can mix some kibble with warmed chicken broth, that might make it more appealing. Have you tried the Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul canned food? That stuff smells so good I'm tempted to try it! Another idea if all else fails, there are some companies out there that make "homemade" food that you can have shipped to you.
