Can you say SPOILT!!?? lol. Sounds like you plain out spoilt him :-) If you are
determined to get him back to dry dog food only, then my suggestion would be to
put out dry food...leave it out, don't put a time limit on it at this
point....and wait him out. You will have to be the strong one, and not give in.
If he don't eat that day, he will not starve. Dogs are better at playing the
waiting game than humans are :-) Just make sure the dry is available in case he
caves. Of course, keep an eye out that his sugar doesn't drop, but most likely,
he will be fine...you are the one who will be a nervous wreck. At least don't
give in till day three (if he goes two whole days without eating...better go
ahead and get something in him)

You may want to go ahead and pour chicken juice over the dry to give it a
taste.......

Also, how big is he?? You probably do not want to chance it with a really tiny
one...but if he is, ohhh say 5 pounds or more.....go ahead and wait him out for
48 hours.

  Subject: [Chihuahuas] Eating Problem

  Hello,

I am new to this group. I tried searching answer to my question in the
archives of this group but no luck. Here is our problem:

We have a 11 month old male Chihuahua. His name is Brownie. We got him
when he was 2.5 months old. He is a great company for all of us in the
family. Very happy, wonderful dog. Great obeying house rules.....but one
big problem: He does not eat well. In the first month, he ate dry dog
food. We then started wet food. My wife gave him once a people food.
After that, he did not eat dog food. Sometimes, he does not eat anything
for a whole day. Next day, we can not wait any longer so we give him
people food. Chicken is his favorite. He would eat chicken (I cook the
chicken legs in the oven) anytime, even with bones. I know that this is
not good for him. And I know that we made the mistake of giving him
  people food.

Any suggestions to what we can do to get him to proper eating habits-Any
  resources?

Thank you so much in advance.
