I live on a 65 acre horse farm. I have had chi's for 25 years now and I will always have them. I used to show but now mine are just beloved pets. Ivermection 1% cattle solution that you get at the feed store can be used for HW preventative. I started using it 29 years ago and I have never had a dog with HW except rescues that came in and already had it. It is the main ingredient in heartguard. Give 1/10 cc per 10 lbs. of body weight.
