Pepper humps his back like that when his back is hurting. He has 5 bad disk in his back and they are ok most of the time, but he does take bad spells when he is in a lot of pain and when he is like this, he humps up his back....I think it relieves some of the pressure on his disks......When I see him humping, I know it is time for his pain meds.
