Nope, can't get a guesstimate of adult weight this way, (adding/dividing
parents ) sorry :-) lol. As a general rule, large breed dogs continue to grow
physically for about a year and a half and small breeds for about a year. Of
course this is all "generally" speaking. Some chis will reach their full growth
by 8 or 9 months old while others continue to grow till closer to a year and a
half. The average would be about a year old.

I'm guessing you could add the weights of the parents then divide by 2 to get
an estimate. My Chi Tater Tot is somewhere between 6 - 8 mos old and is
holding at 5 lbs. I don't know if he'll get any bigger or not. Most dogs stop
growing height wise around 6 mos but will fill out some until they are 2 yrs at
least most of mine have. I'm not sure with little dogs if this statement is
true or not.

I recently purchased as sweet little chihuahua female. She is 9 weeks
old and approximately 3 lbs. Her mother was 6 lbs and father was a
little less. Is there a way to estimate what her adult weight will be?
