I am not saying there can never be a good outcome....but I am more conscientious of my pups than to chance it. The risk is just too great. I mean what if a pup has a sugar shock while everyone is at the in-laws for that short one hour dinner or something? And like too many Christmas presents, what if the novelty wears off after the first week? I prefer everyone spend their time during the holidays enjoying friends, family, food and presents, and then give their total attention to the new pup a week or two later. Marsha

I've heard and read in magazines about it not being a good idea to get a puppy during the holidays and yet 95% of the ads at this time of year will say "just in time for Christmas" or some such thing. There are some homes that are loud and hectic at any time of the year and there are some that are not. Not only with people visiting, but with multiple other pets and children of all ages. The puppies seem to adjust. Years ago,my sister-in-law asked for her puppy as her Christmas gift and from day one that puppy was showered with love and lots of laughter and noise!
