That is really sweet. I hope the vet gets blessings a hundredfold!
Something similar happened to my Mom last December. It wasn't a vet
but just the same, very kind. She bought a blouse with buttons that
didn't have a button hole. The store didn't have anyone who could
fix it so my Mom went to this place that alters and fixes clothes.
The lady did it in for about 10 minutes and as my Mom was ready to
pay, she said, no problem, happy holidays!

I have told you all how Cesar chews and even eats everything he can
pick up and get into his mouth. I have fished out wood, twigs,
pieces of branches, rocks, and pecans out of his mouth. Well, last
night he came in chewing and chewing and rubbing the side of his
mouth against his pillow. When I finally got him to stop running
from me and looked into his mouth, I spotted a piece of wood,
looked like a round peg, about of half of inch long, logged between
his teeth and his gums and I could not pull it out. I even tried
using pliers (which were too big and bulky), so I had to end up
calling the emergency vet. I took him in last night and it was a
long drive. I guess he could sense that I was scared and he was
too. When we got to the vet, I had to fill out the paper work and
sign a notice that I understood a visit to the emergency was $78,
plus whatever the cost for the treatment, I signed it. They saw us
right away and it took the vet less than one minute to pull it out
(minor bleeding) and then surprise of all surprises, when I went to
pay, the young women at the counter told me "the vet said there is
no charge"! I didn't know such kindness still existed.
