WOW you are tooooooo lucky. The emergency Vet I take my dogs to in highway
robbery!! A few years ago my Boston Terrier, Nucklehead got his eyeball poked,
yes there was a hole in his eye. Anyway, this Vet told me there were 2 ways to
treat his injury. The first was with drops for a cost of about $200.00 or
surgery for a cost of $1,500.00 because the only animal Opthimologist for our
county travels from office to office kinda an on call thing. When they told me
the name of this Dr. it sounded familiar but I didn't put too much thought into
it because we really couldn't afford the surgery. I opted with the drops and a
follow up vist at his regular Vet. When we went to our regular vet guess what
we found out? This "traveling Optimologist". IS my dog REGULAR vet, he ended
up doing the surgery for $200.00. When I told him what the Emergency Vet was
going to charge us for the same procedure which he would have done and the name
of the place was he just shook his head in
disgust.
By the way I do not live in a small place we live in the Tampa Bay area in
FL. Pinellas County to be percise. There is really no reason for the
emergency Vet office to charge such a high price for this mans service.
So once a again you are very lucky they did not charge you. Yes, there still
are nice people in the world.
