not unless you are actually looking for them. I mean it isn't something that has symptoms really. Occasionally impacted glands may be the reason some dogs scoot across the floors, ect. But if you look at the anus, you can usually see a small knot starting on the side before it actually gets so big it burst. Sometimes their butt hole (sorry to be graphic, lol) may seem to stick out some, ect.....But it is generally something you have to actually be looking for. If you can see it without having gone looking, then likely it has been that way for a while already (a while being a few days, as generally once it starts packing up it will rapidly grow) Think of your septic system...your toilet may overflow and you need to use a plunger...the stuff has probably been building up, but you haven't noticed anything until it "explodes" lol Marsha
