WE need fiber in our diets.  It's bulk forming in the colon to wash out the bad 
stuff.  Not all fillers are evil.  Heck I eat an all grain bread that's as 
heavy as a brick because of the fact it is filled with fiber.  Roughage is good 
for you and your dogs, plus it helps clean the teeth by being abrasive.
