I am totally heart broken to night, but not nearly as much so
as my mom. Mom's chi, Chiffon, passed away this am. Chiffon, aka Shauny, was
mom's first chi. She was 11 years old. We are not entirely sure what happened.
She called me last night and said something was wrong with Chiffon..... that
she
was having a very hard time breathing and there was blood that she thinks was
from Shauny, but not sure.

I went to mom's asap. We set up with Shauny half the night. I
gave her a brochidialator and a breathing pill. We thought maybe she had
swallowed something, so we gave her peroxide to induce vomiting, but she never
did vomit. Her throat looked really swollen, so I put my fingers down her
throat
and felt around to see if anything was stuck, I could feel it swollen but
couldn't find a cause. She wanted to go to a vet, but the nearest 24 hour vet
is
over an hour away. She seemed to be breathing a bit better from the meds. So
finally I went home around 2 am

She was getting dressed at 7 am to be at the vet when they
opened, and suddenly Chiffon started gasping real bad. Mom called me and I ran
to her house as fast as possible, but she passed before I got there. Mom is so
devastated. She blames herself for not going to the 24 hour vet.

Salt, which is Chiffon's son, has looked all over the house
for his momma. Salt is 10 and they have been together his whole life. He is so
lost without her. They were so close. Everytime they sat down, he literally
laid
on top of her...never beside her, but on her.

Please send up prayers for peace and comfort for mom and for
Salt........ .

Marsha
