A lot of airlines won't let you ship a dog when the heat is that high. When
my breeder was shipping Bogie she needed to know the temps here at day and
night. If it is too cold or too hot they won't allow it

Well, I told them that I could not ship him right now. I think it is too
hot at 100+ degrees here and it is hot even in the morning. I checked into
it and it could be up to a 12 hr flight and that is just too much for a
little puppy. He will be 12 wks in 3 days, but he is still too small for
that kind of stress. I told her that if she was really wanting him she
could fly down and they would allow her to fly him back in the cabin with
her, but I don't think that she will go for that. Oh well my baby's health
is the most important thing.

Well with the Pet Safe program Continental offers the trolleys for lack of a
better description are air conditioned to transport to and from the airplane
but I am unsure what Alaska Air has in place. It was early Spring when my
puppy shipped and it was a Beagle baby.

I think shipping Chi puppy that far is very dangerous, especially in this
heat - the tarmac is not climate controlled

I have a person who would like me to ship a puppy to alaska. I have never
shipped before and would like some advise from those of you who have shipped
a good distance. What airline is best? I have heard Delta but not
sure...How much would you charge if I have to drive 1 hr to the airport and
1hr back? I would be shipping from Texas so it would have to be a very
early flight. Any other advise or suggestions would be great thanks.
