I hate to defend airlines, but, here goes.....you have to remember that you ARE in a public place. There could be people who are allergic to dogs and your need to hug and cuddle your pet, could make their allergies worse. Also there are people who are afraid of dogs. So although I agree that many flight attendants nowadays are rude (I go to Japan every 3 months so I do see it a lot), I also know that they have to look out for the safety and comfort of the other travelers. food for thought anyway!
