I'm curious where you all heard that long haird Chis were crossed with Papillons or Poms??  I have never heard that and I believe that the long haired Chi has, historically, been around longer than both of those breeds.  Maybe they were crossed with long haired Chis instead of the other way around???

I've heard the same about the Pomeranian but comparing them, I believe the Papillon might be more likely.

They do appear similar.  Some say the original long coat Chihuahua was a Papillon cross to begin with.

I have been asked if Cesar was a Papillon but didn't really know what they looked like, until my friend sent me some photos of her two.  Here's the long coat one.
