You HAVE heard it. I have read many chi background books, articles,
ect.....all of which claim that the l/c chi was a result of a cross breed
between a s/c chi and a pom. Now, I will not say that this is an actual
FACT, because I don't know...wasn't there, lol. But it has been generally
accepted in the chi community as being so. But remember this would have
been many many moons ago, and the lc chi has now been bred to the point
that the only remaining "pom" gene, is the long coat. They are recognised
by the AKc as full blooded chis. Most of our breeds are a result of a
cross breeding between two other breeds many generations ago, and the
process is still there to recognise new breeds that are becoming accepted
as a separate breed but are more current cross breds.
