[Chihuahuas] Dew Claw Question

My Pablo broke his dew claw. It is cracked sideways and he cries when I
touch it.  Should I just finish cutting it off (it is far up on the nail) or
just leave it alone? He keeps running away from me and hiding.  Should I
wrap it up?  I am sure it hurts, but it is not bleeding right now.  Any
advice would be appreciated.  Thanks! - em :-)
