Exactly and regardless of whose fault people think it is the outcome is the same. So, to me it does not matter who is at fault. I think what you are doing is great and yes education is the key. For all you know when you educate your students there may be a child or children who have been raised to believe that dog fighting is a normal ok way of life for dogs. It would be great if those kids could be educated to not believe that. Then we have less cruelty in the world.

I have been fortunate, my breeder and the breeders I have dealt with were so very honorable; I wish all breeders of every type dog were as caring and wonderful as they were. But I also have a little rescue chi who came from poor conditions and really just had a horrible experience. As a teacher, I try to save one at a time with education, training, and common sense. I will be using this movie as a jumping point to talk about all of those things and providing a reality check to students and parents. It is US the buyers and sellers of pups, that will cause the problems if we are not careful. We have discussed this a great deal on some of my breeders groups. Bottom line, this movie WILL boost puppy sales, no doubt about it, BUT, it is up to each of us, as ethical and responsible breeders, to make sure that the people we are selling our pups to are people who are actually wanting a pup and not people who have fallen for the latest trend. Of course, we can't quarantee anything, but we have to be much more diligent during this time period. And, we need to make sure our buyers know...and stick behind the promise...that no matter what the reason, EVER, the pups can always be returned. We wont BUY them back, but we will take them back because they are our responsibility for life. I always make sure my buyers know the pup can come back for any reason at any point in its life...that there is never any reason for any pup I have bred to end up in a shelter.
