Normally the salivation will just mean they are really happy.. My lab does
it when he really gets into getting petted or even thinks he is going for a
walk.. Lol.. Please always keep an eye on the 2yr old and the chi.. No
matter how gentle he is .. 2yr olds just do not understand how fragile a chi
really is.. Please do not ever leave them alone together.. I really can not
emphasize that enough. To the 2yr old the chi is a toy, I do not mean to say
that he would ever intentionally hurt the pup.. But it can happen so quickly
that many breeders and rescues will not let chi's go to homes with small
children.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Chico's New Mommy!!

Hi Everyone--
Thanks for all your helpful advice .. I wanted to let everyone know
I brought home Chico on Friday night and so far he is amazing!!! He
loves to sleep in his crate..Then I take him out and have some one on
one time with him...this way my other dog doesnt get jealous I give
them both alot of individual attention and my little 2 yr old son just
loves him and is so gentle with him... I dont mean to be a pain but
when I let the chihuahua ( Chico )and my maltese ( Munson ) sniff
eachother I notice they both wag their tales but my maltese will
salivate alot ...like it drips out of his mouth... and then when i take
them apart he is fine... he is acting himself I just dont know what
that means.. I'll take all advice..Thanks again everyone!!!
