Actually, the term parti color isn't really used in Chis (at least in the AKC standard). It is used with other breeds, such as cockers, poodles, poms, etc. I found a poodle breeder's website that explains the meaning of parti color: sharminspoodles.homestead.com/toypoodlecolors.html It says "The Parti color originally meant any dog having two or more colors. Now, most breeders define the parti colors as a dog that is basically white with markings or spots of any color." I am sure it will explain it on the AKC website, too, but that is what I found parti color to mean. Stefanie
