I don't know that much about long coat chi's, but I can say that my three short haired chi's are shedders. It isn't long hair, but it seems to be everywhere at times. I would never give them up for the world but they do shed. When we had out last litter I bought some Waterless Bath spray that you spray, rub in and you wipe off which helps without drying their skin. They smell great and it seems to cut down on shedding as their coats are more mousurised.
