I brush him once a week and trim his foot-hair (and nails) once per month. He doesn't need anymore than that and never gets matts or tangles. He gets a bath occasionally (when needed) but his coat stays very very clean in between baths. I have had short coated dogs before and they (the short coats) seem to shed a lot more and need lots more baths to get rid of that "doggie odor". Gizmo hardly ever has any odor and he barely sheds at all! I love the long coats!
