I prefer the shorter muzzles, too. But, you are right, smushed muzzles are another story. Chihuahuas already have enough issues with retaining baby teeth becuase of their tiny mouths. I hope Chi fanciers don't get too carried away with the shorter muzzles. Stefanie

I think the idea of having to shorter muzzles is to keep the apple headed look and to have a more prominent stop. Lots of "pet breeders" are going toward the more deer-like head with a longer muzzle.
