I would find a vet you trust fully and give him all the info you have,
tell him his current situation, ect and between the two of you come up
with the best decision for this particular dog. You vet, if he is a good
one, should be able to tell if the medical risk of the surgery outweighs
the pros of it.  I have a little chi that needs to be spayed, but I can
not get the nerve to do it because I fear for the safety of the anethesia
on one that small.....so for now, I just make sure she is never around any
guys when she is in heat or anything....but it is one of those things that
has to be decided on a case by case basis. But, in the end...folllow your
gut no matter what...it is usually right....
