Congratulations on getting Daisy. By your questions and concerns, I know
you're going to be a good mama to her. As far as the food, I would mix in
people food with her dog food and keep reducing the amount of people food
until she is just eating the dog food. How many times a day do you feed
her? If she has been eating in the mornings, maybe you can try switching her
to evening or vise versa, so she will be good and hungry. When you feed
her, only leave the food out for ten minutes or so, if she doesn't eat it,
pick it up and don't offer her anymore until its time for the next feeding.
This method worked for my friend, who's dog wanted only people food. Good
luck.

Hello. I'm Amber and I just adopted my Chi on Thursday from the SPCA. Her
name is Daisy. She's a great dog and she's already such a joy to have in my
family. The only problem I am having with her is that her previous owners
clearly only fed her table food. She refuses to eat her dog food and
constantly begs for people food. She's also overweight. What should I do to
get
her to start eating her food? I want her to be as healthy as possible.

I would also very much appreciate it if someone could give me some tips on
how to help her lose weight? I have already started walking with her
around the block at night as a bit of exercise but I wasn't sure if there was
anything else. I've been trying to do some research on my own but so far I'm
not having any luck.

Thank you so much!!
