My aunt used to sprinkle garlic powder, just a LITTLE bit on her dogs food and
it kept fleas and ticks off her.

Thanks,

My old dachsie had the same problem...it was flea dermatitis, allergy to
fleas. Our vet tried just about everything but she never cleared up until
we moved from NC to Colorado. We're at about 5800 ft and fleas don't
survive well at this altitude.

The dry skin can be caused by among other things too much bathing. What are
you doing for flea prevention? Hamburger grease is not good for the dogs. It
won't do a thing for the dry skin. You need to get rid of the fleas first
then see how they do and work on the rest.
