You can put fat on a rabbit if you go heavy on the feed. I have butchered some
that were way over fed as show rabbits and it caused them not to be
successful breeders. I was just saying that it may be another alternative if
someone had the capabilities to breed a few to add with their regular raw meat
diet for their dogs. I wasn't saying that it should be strictly an all rabbit
diet. Maybe I should have worded it differently. I'm sorry.

Thanks,
Michele in WV

My husband and I hunt and I can raise the heck out of rabbits and if you

chicken. There is hardly NO FAT on rabbit meat if you grow them out right.
Just keep in mind that fat is needed in a dog's diet.  So, a diet of only very
lean rabbit could cause issues.  But, I find it a wonderful addition to a small
dogs' diet because they are able to eat the bones which isn't the case in beef,
etc.
